WOODBINES STANLEY PRODUCE STAKES TORONTO, Ont., September 29. The Stanley Produce Stakes, an open sweepstakes for three-year-olds, was offered as the feature attraction at Woodbine Park this afternoon and brought ont a good band of Canadian-breds to contest it. The winner was extensively supported and . went to the post the shortest priced winner of the day. I Rain which fell this morning had but little ef- feet on the going, which, after being turned over by the harrows, was good during the remainder of the afternoon. Racing throughout the day was of a spirited order, a number of contests being decided by short margins. The Michaelmas Handicap, for thrce-year-plds, a dash of three-quarters of a mile, furnished a tilt for players when Polythia. ridden by Dodd, led home Ikey T. and Irish Jig. Dandy fell at the second fence and rolled over jockey Stretch. Fortunately on examination the latter was found to be slightly shaken up. Silas Veitch has sold the aged plater Little Nearer to J.
