TAMARISK set the pace under hard pressure from the start and, forcing the others wide when entering the homestretch, held on resolutely in the final drive and outstayed VIBRATE. The latter gradually gained on the leader through the liomestretch and finished gamely. DAY LILLY suffered from interference at the elbow, but held FLUFF safe in the stretch and was ridden out at the finish. FLUFF suffered most of all on the stretch turn and could never recover.
