REDLAND began slowly from the outside and was forced to come around on the outside, but wore the leader down in the stretch and got up wiii in the final strides. THE DECISION set a,, fast pace, but tired badly in the last eighth. ONICO finished fast and just got up in time to beat TOOM-BEOLA. IRON BOY closed a big gap. The latter finished gamely and would have beaten the winner ih: another stride. SEA SUN made a bad blunder at the fifth jump and fell at the sixth, but was remounted and finished.
