THORNHEDGE began slowly, but gradually improved his position on the inside and. finishing gamely, outstayed JAMAICA BELLE in the tlnal drive. The latter made a game challenge in the last,eighth, but jnst failed to get up SUNNY DAYS lacked early speed, but came around the leaders "iiv the homestretch and finished with belated TuMi. FAIR GAIN followed the leader closely under restraint until straightened out in the homestretch, then closed up gamely and, outstaying SWEET MUSIC, won drawing clear. The "latter set a good pace in the early running and held on gamely until in the last sixteenth, where she tired. ON HIGH was not persevered with after going a half mile. PICKWICK displayed the most early speed and held on gamely to the end. GOALER saved ground when entering the stretch, but was in tight quarters on the inside in the final strides. MAJOR PARKE was crowded back on the stretcli turn, but came again and finished gamely. The winner, entered for ,000, was bid up to ,505 and bought in. Scratched 50573 Vice-Chairman, 105. TAILOR MAID was on the inside and repeatedly cut off in the first half mile and tired in the last quarter. RECOUNT was always outpaced. LENJOLEUR gradually improved his position on the outside of the leaders and outstayed LE GAULOIS in the final drive. The latter ran well and finished gamely, but tiring. WAR MAP set the early pace and quit badly. FURLOUGHS saddle slipped. Overweights Curytiba, 4 pounds.
