MIDDLE PARK PLATE TO MONARCH Son of Tracory Wins Englands Most Covotcd Race for Two-Year-Olds. -. LONDON, England, October 10. The Middle Parle Plate, which is considered the highest autumn test of two-year-olds and an indication of the next Epsom "Derby favorite, was run at Newmarket Friday " and won by Mr. Sicvcrs Monarch, a haif-hrother to Royal Bucks, with Humorist second, .a neck between tbcm; Polemarch a half length away and Lemonora and Thunderer- -at their heels. The weather was perfect, ground still hard and the attendance was abundant! Monarchs was a popular victory The field of thirteen was the best in many years and the race a splendid one. Humorist ran in J. B. Joels second colors. Mr. Joel declared to win with Thunderer, which was the. .favorite. Monarch led all the way, but tirod and pecked with shortened stride near the Ciui-ih. Bullock rode him splendidly. Humorist would have won in a few more strides. The time, 1:13, was fast for the course.
