JOCKEYS BUTWELL AND NOLAN FINED Laurel Stewards Make Ruling Governing Disposition of All Fines. LAUREL, Md., October 21. For disorderly conduct In the jockey room yesterday, the following fnes have been imposed: Jockey J. Butwell, 00; Jockey T. Nolan, 00. After the above announcement the stewards handed down the following ruling: Whereas it may be desirable for the stewards to impose fines not exceeding two hundred dollars in any case upon persons under their jurisdiction, found guilty of infractions of minor rules where no question of turpitude is involved, but on the other hand it is not desirable that the power to fine should be exercised directly or indirectly by any oiie in a position to benefit financially thereby. Now, therefore, it is ordered that all fines imposed and collected shall be disposed as follows: Fines collected from jockeys shall be credited slare atid share aike to the winning jockeys of the day upon which the offense was committed, except ns. noted below. Fines collected from trainers shall be credited share and share alike to the winning trainers of the day upon which the offense was committed except as noted below. Fines collected from owners or others than jockeys and trainers shall be credited share and share alike to the winning, owners of the ,da upon which the offense was, committed except as noted below. Provided that no jockey, trainer or owner previously fined or suspended at the meeting shall participate Jn. such disposition of money collected by means of fines. Should a fine be imposed for an offense committed on a day where there may be no racing it shall be credited as if the offense had been committed on the next following racing day.
