The latter closed a big gap. PRINCE OF COMO was almost left at the post. GREY LAG began slowly, but came fast in the homestretch and, finishing gamely under hard riding, wore the leader down and outstayed MULCIBER at the end. MULCIBER was crowded back at. the- start and, displaying excellent speed while rounding the last turn, passed the leader, but could not withstand the winners challenge. CURFEW ran a game race and outstayed EAST VIEW. The latter set a fast pace for a half mile and quit badly.
