FINE BAND OF SPRECKELS YEARLINGS BY F. L. McKENNEY. SAX. FRANCISCO, Cal., November 2. Fifteen yearlings belonging to Adolph B. Spreckels have been shipped from the owners famous Napa Stock Farm to Pleasanton, Alameda County, where they will be given a careful preparation for racing as two-year-olds next year over the New York tracks. Pleasaiitou is now the horse haven" of the West, having been thoroughly renovated ana put in order for the reception of thoroughbreds and harness horses. There are about fifty head at the picturesque race track at present, with prospects of about two hundred before the end of November. Accommodations have been provided for three hundred horses. The property is owned by Rod Mackenzie, the Canndiau sportsman whose colors often have been carried to victory on eastern tracks. The Spreckels youngsters made quite a bit of most of them having progress on the home course, worked fast eighths in the presence of Mr. Spreckels. wlio takes keen delight in watching them dash lown" the stretch.
