He pleaded, however, that he liad no opportunity to extricate liimself arid that he had made every possible effort to win. Arigons improved showing yesterday, both in the matter of riding and of speed, caused the stewards to again question Murray. He again maintained that he made equally as great an effort in the losing race as he did in tlie winning one; that he did not bet on either race, nor did anyone else bet for him. Lloyd Gentry, the owner Of Angou, when questioned by the stewards, said he could not explain tlie horses bad race, except that Murray had got into, a lot of trouble during, the running of the race and that he liad used bad judgment, but was honest. Gentry stated tliat.be. had bet upon Angon in both of his races. Tlie stewards established the fact that the horse was backed in both races, "come-back" money appearing in each, but a greater amount in tlie winning race.
