BULLET PROOF ONCE MORE l 3 Wins at Three-Quarters in Fast j Time Without Trouble. i Parader Also Wins- for the Clopton Stable Lucky B. First Again. BY J. L. DEMPSEY. " NEW ORLEANS, La., December 2. S. A. Clop-tons colors, were carried to victory in a double this afternoon, his representatives Bullet Proof and Purader accounting for tlie pair of dashes featuring the card. Bullet Proof was engaged with some good ones In the three-quarters handicap in which Angon was held to be the best, hut Bullet Proof left no doubt of his superiority by the easy fashion in which he won in fast time. Angon figured but slightly in the running, being completely eliminated after going the first quarter and the finish found llini beaten soundly and following Rapid Day, which liad succumbed in the last seventy yards to Panama n. Like-Bullet Proof, Paraders task was an easy one after he had disposed of Rolo, the pace maker, and the stretch racing found him going away steadily from Lady Stella, which had overhauled Rolo in the last eighth. Considerable attention in this- was directed to Cranebird, about which there was a suspicion after her victory at Louisville that she was other than represented, but she showed nothing today to warrant belief that she is other than ordinary. The Clopton connections did not find the afternoon, all a bed of roses and the defeat of Verity : tiuthcfmirtli-iace was particularly cosMytO them. Verity was an overwhelming favorite, but is of little account, and the best she could do was to land in third: place.. Miss Nell at long odds won the race in easy style with Willigan in second place. The Moor began proceedings by a victory in the initial dash over Big Son, a highly regarded one. The latter flattered extensively until reaching the lust eighth, where he relinquished the lead and was but good enough to outstay the fast coining Repent, on which the diminutive beginner McDeriuott had the mount. The uncertain Pullux was an outstanding favorite in the second race and he proved a dismal failure, being led to the finish by Lieutenant Perkins, which showed decided improvement under a vigorous ride. Back Bay also made improvement in his running, aided somewhat by the removal of blinkers, for he was prominent from the start and won from Arch Plotter and Dr. Sliafer. Some good platers made the contest in the closing dash and it resulted in a victory for Lucky B., after a hard drive to outstay Cheer Leader, with Nelle Yorke in third place and the expected contender. The Wit, following far back. Numerous arrivals today from Bowie augmented the attendance to n large extent. Weather and track conditions were perfect for the sport and the several close finishes that materialized during the afternoon were lustily cheered. W. H. Rowu, owner of the Pelican stable, was an arrival today from his home in Shrcvejiort. La. lie had nothing to add, at present, concerning the proposed race meeting in contemplation there after the racing here Is done. There will have to be a strict adherence to the construction of the supreme courts decision in the Austin betting case during the Fair Grounds meeting, district attorney-elect Judge Marr announced this morning, following his visit to the Jefferson Park track yesterday to view the betting system. Howard Oots lias suffered the loss of two yearlings by death frcm pneumonia since coming here. The colt by Hessian Miss Vigilant, which succumbed yesterday, had shown well in trials. The other youngster he lost was a filly by Star Shoot. Starter Edward Tribe took up his position tills afternoon, having arrived from Bowie during the morning. W. Doyle, who is serving as patrol judge on eastern tracks and will serve in a similar capacity here, was among todays arrivals and immediately took up his duties. Jockey Snedman, who sustained a bad fall on St. Donard at Jamaica, intends to resume riding, beginning with the Fair Grounds meeting.
