KILMER WOULD HA VE FARED POORLY IN 1920 The Willis Sliarpc- Kilmer stable would have cut but little figure in the racing of 1920 but for the lucky inspiration that led to his purchase of Exterminator in. the spring of 1918. With this modern reproduction of the old-time wear-arid-tear race horse ready to do valiant battle with all comers and over all distances, he possessed a formidable one-horse stable and reaped his full share of the honors of the year. Exterminator was not the best horse of the year in the four years old and over division, but he was so close to it that even Sir Barton, at his best, could take no liberties with him. As a stayer Exterminator is a wonder and undoubtedly capable of wiping out Sotemias remarkable record of four miles in 7:10 did our present-day racing afford him the opportunity. Sound and willing, he is probably destined to do further great things in our racing of 1921. One among the notable things he did this year was to cross the line that put him into the highly exclusive list "of winners of 00,000 or more. Mr. Kilmer had a right good two-year-old in Our Flag.
