R0SSETER YEARLINGS AT BELMONT An Even Dozen Now There in Fred Burlows Care Brother to Inchcape Still in California. George H. Strate, manager of J. II . Rosscters Wikiup Ranch in California, passed through Chicago yesterday on his way to California. Mr. Strate came from New York by way of Kentucky after bringing a carload of yearlings to Belmont Park, which he turned over to Fred Burlew, trainer of the Rosseter stable. There were an even dozen In the shipment, .six by Friar Rock and six by Disguise. Mr. Strate is particularly sweet on the chestnut colt by Friar Rock Sweet Marjoram, the dam of Bringhurst and Ethel Gray. He says ho is another Inchcape, the colt for which S. C. Hlldreth paid the largest price on record for a two-year-old. The following is a list of the yearlings turned over to trainer Burlew: Ch. c, by Friar Rock Bold Girl, by Ogdeu. Mr. Strate left fonr yearlings at Wikiup Ranch, and these will not be shipped east until next spring. One of these youngsters is a brother to Inchcape. being by Friar Rock Rose of Gold. Another is a bay colt by Disguise Agnes Velasquez, the latter an English mare for which Mr. Rosseter paid a handsome sum. This colt is a brother to Volta, an English horse of the type of our famous Rose-, ben, that could run fast no matter what weight was assigned him.
