RAIN FALLS AT LOUISVILLE But Active Training Continues at Both Tracks Owners and Horses Arriving Frequently LOUISVILLE Ky March 22 It rained through ¬ out the training period at the two local race tracks this moriiiig and a sudden cold snap added to the discomfiture of the htrsomen but there was no let up in activity Full iiota of horses was out at both places The rain was benefieial to the Downs track which had become a hit hard and it did net affect Douglas Iark to any extent Along toward noon the sun came out and all traces of the rain wen soon removed removedSchooling Schooling of the twoyearolds had to be aban ¬ doned at both places because of weather conditions conditionsdipt dipt I C Bunbury C 1 Hrockmiller and J AV Tex Forman were arrivals from New Or ¬ leans this morning Their hoiscs got in at the same time Included in these consignments were two iinrscM Iwlonging to John C Ferrlss and the same number owned by F r Lcttelller All stood the long shipment well The stable of J S Haw ¬ kins which includes Firebrand a Kentucky Derby eligible came in from Lexington and was assigned quarters at Churchill Downs John J Troxlcrs outfit arrived from the same city and went to Douglas Park ParkW W Mulhollnnd brought John 0 to the Downs to ¬ day This horse had bceu turned out all winter at Carr Plaits farm near Lexington LexingtonAdvices Advices were received here today to the effect that F W Statous horses were shipped from New Orleans last night Col Andrew Acnuie who is extensively interested In Kentucky racing returned today from a lengthy trip in the South and Vfist VfistFormer Former Jockey K Aubuchnn who has be u in the service of Kny Spence for some time ha a ap ¬ plied for a trainers license for the current xvar He has n twoyearold filly of his own the Cjulo nvls J ady which has numerous stake engagements
