ASK CHANGES IN NEW REGULATIONS REGULATIONSTORONTO TORONTO Ontario May 13 A deputation con ¬ sisting of Dilton McCarthy K C representing the Canadian Racing Associations George M Hen ¬ drie of Windsor II J Mclntyre Hamilton and General Mewlmrn former minister of militia wailed on the government at Ottawa yesterday with several requests The main object was to ask the government to allow a straight 5 per cent commission from the mutuel machines instead of the graded percentage from 7 to 3 as provided in the recent legislation legislationThe The deputation pointed out that under the new legislation the Canadian courses will be stranded out of existence when the provincial taxes of 7500 per dny are taken into consideration The deputation also asked that the Royal Mounted Police be withdrawn as supervisors of the pari mutuel machines and their power recently conferred of checking up and looking after the interests of the govenment in handling the take be revoked as it is a matter of skilled mathematicians ami not for policemen Quebec nice officials state that the presence of the mounted police while not objectional is unpopular in Quebec QuebecRacing Racing men fear that the employment of inexpe ¬ rienced1 supervisors will result in retarding the cal ¬ culation work between races and result in general disorganization
