OLD ESTABLISHED AMERICAN STAKE The Coaching Club American Oaks which will l e run at Belmont Park June 10 is one of the oldest fixtures of American racing It was formerly the Singleton Cup which was first won by Kosciusko in Charleston in 1832 The famous trophy became the property of the Coaching Club a few years ago The present day Oaks was inaugurated in 1917 and the Singleton Cup and a silver trophy donated to it To get the rare old relic the stake must be won three times by the same owner but a silver cup goes with eacli victory as well as the winners share of the stakes
