OVER 7000 SEE MOUNT ROYAL RACING i MONTREAL Que May 24 A holiday crowd of f over 7000 saw a thrilling finish between Golden Chance and Koran in the Victoria Handicap a threequarters t f a mile dash which featured the Mount Royal program today Koran raced to the front when the barrier was raised and showing a keen turn of speed established a lead of a length olden Chance saved behind the leader and May Maulxby moved tip on ths outside approaching the stretch turn and getting on even terms with Koran the two battled it out through the stretch Both were under punishment and at the end Golden Chance had just enough left to get the verdict by a nod The winner was neglected in the betting in favor of Koran and Panaman and as a result re ¬ turned the lilKral price of 2330 Panaman slow to placeFred begin finished with a rush to get third place Fred Richard of Dorval reports so many applica ¬ tions for stabling at the meeting which opens there Monday that nearby stables are being pressed into service Manager Richard leaves tonight for Wood ¬ bine Park He expects the most successful meeting in Dorvals history
