BROOKL YN HANDICAPS NOBLE FIELD MAD HATTER EXTERMINATOR AUDACIOUS ETERNAL ETERNALAND AND OTHER GRAND HORSES TO MEET IN THE THEFAMhUS FAMhUS RACE AT AQUEDUCT TODAY The Suburban Handicap was first run in 1884 It so quickly and entirely enchained public interest and so greatly contributed to the high standing of the Coney Island Jockey Club that the rival Brooklyn Jockey Club followed suit in 1SS7 in the establishment of tho Brooklyn Handicap at the same distance of n mile and a quarter For years these two great races were the centerpieces of American racing It was customary to publish the weights simultaneously early in the year and heavy future booking was done on each From coast to coast interest in the outcome of tho Brooklyn and afterward of the Su ¬ burban was of the profonnded
