SIDEREAL took the lead at onee and, displaying excellent speed, set a fast pace all the way, but had to be hard ridden through the last eighth to withstand YANKEE MAIDS challenge. The latter was the closest contender all the way and gained slowly in the stretch drive. MODO moved up rapidly on the backstreteh, but could not keep pace with the leaders through the last quarter. TULWAR was not persevered with when beaten. Won easily; second and third driving. HERD GIRL gradually improved her position in the first three-quarters of a mile, came around DARK HILL in the stretch and, easily taking the lead, won easing up. THIMBLE closed up ground under punishment and finished fast. DARK HILL, under slight restraint until rounding the last turn, took the lead quickly after entering the stretch, but tired finally.
