FIRE DESTROYS STABLE EQUIPMENT LOl.ISVILLK, Ky.. July 22. John Lowe suffered the loss of ,.-00 worth of stable eiinipment when a horse car in which it was loaded preparatory to being shipped to Latonia canght fire at the railroad chute just outside Douglas Park. Fortunately American Ace and The Leopard, two horses which Lowe left here utirinc the Latonia meeting, and which were to be sent to the Milldalc track in tin- same car. had not been loaded when the blaze broke out. Upon learning of the misfortune, Lowe came down from Latonia and, after purchasing new equipment, shipped the two horses to Covington. Hi: said that the "traps" destroyed were sufficient for thirty-five horses. He is resting his outfit at Latouia for the summer. 1 Sot li American Ace and The Leopard have been on the ailing list for some time, but they are ready for active training now.
