TRANSPERO showed high speed throughout and .blundered at several jumps., but hung on gamely through the final eighth to otitfinish NONUS. The hitter was under restraint for the first turn "of the field, but moved up witii a rush when going to the fifteenth fence and was wearing the winner down at the end. McCORBURN was repeatedly bothered by BARONET during the running and wan eased up at the end. DANDY could never net up. BARONET lost his rider at the fourteenth fence. The latter, on the outside of the leader all the way, made a threatening dial lengn in the stretch, but was tiring through the final sixteenth. THORNY WAY raced forwardly and made a game finish. LADS LOVE was far back and outrun early, but gradually improved his position and, coming through next to the inner rail on the stretch turn, finished witli a rush and won going away. SMART GUY came around the leaders on the stretch turn and easily raced into second place. SOME BABY raced lorwardly, but tired in the stretch. The latter raced in closest pursuit of the leader for nearly the entire way and. finishing with a belated rush, would have won in another stride. AUSTRAL closed a big gap and finished fast.
