OIL MAN, away forwardly, took tin- lead quickly and, displaying excellent Sliced, set a fast pace and, after being passed, responded gamely to hard urging in the last eighth and again took the lead, but had to bo hard ridden to withstand MODOS challenge. The latter raced forwardly all the way and was forced wide on the stretch turn, but came again and made a game finish. SIR HUGH saved much ground when entering the- stretch and took the lead, but tired in the final drive. LITTLE CHIEF ran gamely all the way.
