LOCARNO followed the leaders closely to the turli for home, then moved up rapidly and outstayed LDNA I, in the final drive. EDNA I, ran well and finished gamely after racing GORHAM into defeat. EASTWARD PRINCESS closed up much ground from a slow beginning. DR. STEVENSON raced up into n contending position after entering the stretch, but tired in the last eighth. FRANKLIN closed up considerable ground in the stretch. INCOG displayed great speed in pacemaking to the turn for home, but tired when challenged" at -the eighth post. GRACE recovered her speed suddenly and ran well throughout.
