SUNN YLAND set the early pace and, after being passed, raced in close pursuit of AVAR NOTE to the last eighth, then passed him and won going away. AVAR NOTE displajed excellent speed in pacemaking for seven-eighths, but could not withstand tin? winners challenge. ItEP dwelt at the start, but steadily improved his position anil outfinished ROMANY. The latter ran well, but tired in the closing strides. "BACK DAAVN moved up gamely when entering the stretch, but Oid not re-ond when called on for a final effort. . AALOlt lacked speed, ran a bad race, and his rider end lim l.-p in the stretch. TWO FEATHER, after racing under slight restraint for three-iuarters, closed up gamely in the stretch and easily outstayed the others for second place. DIMMEKDALE, under restraint in the early riuining, saved ground when entering the stretch and linishcd fast. SURF RIDER, well ridden, followed JUNE GRASS closely under slight restraint to the stretch turn, from where he moved UP rapidly anil, passing him, outstayed GALANTMAN in the final drive. GALANTMAN was in close quarters next to .the inner rail for the. first half mile and, saving ground when entering the stretch, took the lead, but tired in the final drive. MODO began slowly and moved up menacingly on the last turn, but tired under his impost in the last sixteenth. JUNE GRASS set a great pace to the last turn, but quit in the stretch. NOItTIlCLIFF finished gamely. MIZAR was hard ridden, but could ngver improve his position. AENIZELOS ran a fast half and tired.
