NEW YORK STATE IN FIRST PLACE LEADER OF VARIOUS RACING FIELDS IN MATTER OF MONEY DISTRIBUTION DURING YEAR 1921 In 1920 eastern Canada resumed racing on such a scale of liberality that when its racing season was over it found itself the leader of the various fields of racing in North America. In 1921, however, its total output to owners fell off slightly, while the New York field registered a considerable increase, the ■at result being that the two fields reversed tin ir standing, New York finishing first and eastern Canada second. British Columbia came in this year with 44,600, but this, added to eastern Canadas total, would not overcome New Yorks present supremacy. Kentucky advanced a peg and deprived the Maryland field of third place, it being merely t:n exchange of positions. Cuban racing loomed up grandly with 41,915 and is now a winter field of decided importance.
