February 24. -The ,000 Intle pead e Handicap was featured by the Coba- Aiiierican Jockey and Auto Club at Oriental Park this afternoon. The Cincinnati turfman Mose Gold-Man furnished the winner in Frank W.. which beat Oeaeral Menoeal by a length and a half in a driving finish. lie race was at a mile and an eighth and had a gross value of $,.115. the winner receiving 84.030. Frank W.. ridden by Penman, made all the pace, opened up into a long lead after going a half mile, but at the end was driving hard to stall off ienernl Menoeal. The latter ran as if lies i, but was repeatedly interfered with by Mayor House, which blocked him when Hunt attempted to go through on tlie inside in the racing down the backstretch. At the finish General Menoeal was catching the tiring leader with every stride. It was a legal holiday in Cuba and an immense crowd turned out to witness the sport. The racing was interesting and speculation of large volume. At an auction sale of horses in training held at the paddock after the races Thursday the following changed ownership: The Englishman to M. Jockey Joe Pominick departed today for his home in New Orleans. He expects to ride later at Mobile.
