The winner was ridden by Morris and the latter de ided the result at the head of the stretch when lie saved several lengths by a close turn when the leaders caine ■wide on the bend. The dash was at a mile and the backers set up T. H. Cross Cray Cables as the popular choice, with Biff Hang receiving stout support, while the winner and the placed horses were accorded scant consideration. From a good start Babin rushed the Winfrey Stables recent acquisition. Our Birthday, into the lead and was followed closest by Cray Gables. The public supported the Greentroe Stables Exodus in a confident manner to the exclusion of the other starter- and their confidence was not misplaced, although the nn-cxeil son of Ieter Ban -First Flight was only returned a winner after with-tanding a seere drive to gain the verdict from Wellfinder and Knight of the Heather. The start was a good one and Wellfinder was the first to show iu front, closely pursued by Exodus and Knight of the Heather, with Irish Dream next iu order. The first two raced closely together the first part, with the Oreentree Stable starter on the outside. Rounding tie- stret. h turn. Exodus maintained his advantage, although going a trifle wide. Wellfinder hung on in game fashion and just managed to outstay the fast closing Casey representative.
