He re-turned to New York last week and on Friday family in this city was advised of his critical illness. The body will be brought to jj Lexington for burial in Lexington cemetery, n Leacli is survived by his widow, two It sons and a daughter, who reside here, and a brother and sister, who reside at Bury St. :i Edmond, England. , Dr. Leacli several years ago made an un- successful venture into racing in Australia v with a string of horres purchased in this B country. Leaving Australia he visited South Africa and returned to the United States via j England. His articles appeared usually under j, the pen name "Exile." He was intensely pro-British and, though he was iong a resi- y dent of Kentucky, retains his British citizen- C ship. The British thoroughbred never had U anywhere in all the world a more ardent admirer and advocate than was Dr. Leach, and his disparaging statements about Ameri- j, can thoroughbred horses and the breeders r thereof caused him to be not well liked by ; many of the latter. He nevertheless boldly I expounded his theories and unhesitatingly asserted his opinions, both in and out of J print. Arrangements for the funeral have not been completed. , j
