RACING CONTRIBUTES TO THE NEVADA ROAD FUND RENO, Nev., July 25. As a result of the recent race meeting the state highway fund was enriched by S per cent of the total amount of money passing through the pari-mutuel machines, as provided by the Nevada law regulating horse racing. The report of J. J. McCormack, secretary of the Nevada Racing Commission, shows that ,075,933 passed through the machines during the twenty-three days of racing, and of this amount ?S6,074.G1 was taken out, representing the 8 per cent "take" allowed by the state law. Of this G,074.G4 one-sixth goes to the state highway fund, leaving a balance of 1,G23.S7 as the Silver State Jockey Clubs share.
