: . FAR WEST TURF ACCESSIONS New Owners Effective Start for an Important Racing Stable and Stud. SARATOGA SPRINGS, N. Y., August 2C With the coming revival of racing in California at the Tanforan track, there will come to the turf several sportsmen of the far West. Already J. W. Marchbank has shown his silks at the present meeting. Mr. March-bank has the Heather Farm at Walnut Greek, California. It is a stock farm of real- importance, although of greater now than ever before, with his various purchases of yearlings, bought for him by E. R. Bradley. The Heather Farm is nineteen miles from Oakland and Mr. Marchbank has a good band of brood mares on the farm. There were fourteen yearlings ooUght for Mr. Marchbank by Mr. Bradley and they were carefully selected. They are: Brown filly, by Jack Atkin Ryola. Brown filly, by Under Fire Caprice. Brown filly, by Huon Stubborn." Bay filly, by AVormleighton Lady de Jarnette. Chestnut filly, by Ballot-Polly D. Bay filly, by AArack Sardana. Brown filly, by Sweep-Lady Eastman. Chestnut colt, by Omar Khayyam Mouse des Bois. Bay filly, by Oimondale Grace Note. Chestnut filly, by The -Finn Bright Star. Brown filly, by Rock View Riissian Sable. Chestnut filly, by Ballot Polly Connelly. Bay colt, by Friar Rock Bold Girl. Brown filly, by Jack Atkin Black Swan. Trainer Jack Clifford has charge of the horses in training that will bear the silks of the Heather Farm. Clifford for years was with the Burns and Waterhouse racing establishment. He AVill break the yearlings and have them ready for the early two-year-old offerings at Tijuana. In the string of horses in training he. has Mardella, Pud and the two-year-old Penelephohe, a filly which has not started. Jockey E. Fator has been engaged to ride for the stable. iV
