MURPHY PEE SIDING- STEWARD NEW ORLEANS, La., September 25. Judge Joseph A. Murphy has accepted the position of presiding steward of the Fair Grounds track here, after president John Dymond had pledged him full and complete control of racing here. Racing in New Orleans has had a black eye and it was to purge the sport and to "bring it back to its former glory" that Judge Murphy was offered the control. Associated with Judge Murphy will be Herman P. Conkling of Baltimore and the Association will name the third steward. "New Orleans will have clean racing thi3 year," said Judge Murphy. "President Dymond has pledged me his support to the limit and Im going the limit to keep the sport clean." 1
