PATCHWORK took the lead quickly and, setting a good pace under slight restraint, drew away after entering the stretch and was easing up at the end. MACBETH raced GAME SCRAPPER into defeat and had no trouble in holding second place. GAME SCRAPPER ran well, but tired finally. Won driving; second and third the same. HONEYS JEWEL took the lead at once and. setting a fast pace, drew away after. rounding the far turn, but had to be ridden out to outstay HALLUCINATION. The latter was bumped at the start, but closed a big gap and finished with a rush. MAYPOLE was a forward contender all the way. PERKIOMEN raced under restraint until approaching the thirteenth fence, where he moved up quickly and wore the leaders down to win in the final strides under hard riding. RED CLOVER Was much messed about and made a bad landing at the ninth jump, then rushed to the leaders and passed BRIGANNA, but could not withstand the winners challenge. FLYING FROG finished gamely and caught BRIGANNA tiring near the end. The latter tired badly after setting nearly all the early pace. GOLDEN SPHERE was under restraint for the first three-quarters, but seemed unable to improve his position when called on. The latter rushed to the front in the first eighth and set a fast pace, but tired when the winner challenged. AFFECTATION began flatfooted and moved up with a rush on the far turn, but could never get to the two; leaders. KELTIE had no mishaps. ROULETTE ran a good race, but tired after disposing of LILT at the sixteenth post and was swerving over to the inside at the end. LILT set a fast pace for sevens eighths before she tired.
