Won easily; second and third driv- ing. PRINCE OF UMBRIA quickly took the lead and. setting a good pace, held the race safe through- out. EVELYN SAWYER raced forwardly for the entire race and outflnished LADY ROSE in the final drive. The latter was hard ridden from the start, but tired in the stretch. POOR SPORT began slowly .in.l improved his position gradually, but could not overhaul the leaders. BONFIRE dwelt at the start and closed a big gap in the tirst half. VOX POPLI II. almost unseated his rider at the third jump, but recovered quickly and ran. :i good rate REPARATION fenced poorly. COMMODORE GAUNT lost ground at all obstacles. YORKSHIRE appeared to step in a hole after taking the twelfth fence and fell. TREVISCOT fell at the twelfth. KING ALBERT, under restraint in the early running, moved up fast after entering the stretch and tired after getting to the leader, but finished resolutely and outstayed OVERTAKE. The latter was outpaced for the tirst three-Quarters and moved up rapidly in the final quarter, but continued to swerve out and, losing ground by it, would have won had iie run straight. CANYON set a good pace to the last eighth and saved ground on all the turns, but tired badly in the final sixteenth. SUWEEl raced in closest pursuit from the start and outfinished EDICT in the final drive. EDICT was pinched off at the elbow and was in close quarters to the eighth i list, from where she closed up resolutely. SILK TASSEL, oil forwardly, raced in close pursuit of the . leaders for a half mile, but tired and swerved when called on for a final effort. LANIUS ran a fast and j game race and finish close up. OlPERMAN raced well for a half mile.
