DRAKES MIDDLE PARK PLATE i SPECIAL CABLEGRAM. LONDON, England, October 13. Mrs. Whitburns Drake, a two-year-old bay colt t by Sir Eager Lady Burghley, carrying 129 pounds, won the famous Middle Park Plate 1 at Newmarket this afternoon in a canter by two lengths from Aga Khans Paola, a bay r filly by The Tetrarch Pamlleta. Lady Nun-burnholmes Portumna was third, three 2 : lengths farther back. The three-quarters 3 was covered in 1:14. The winner was at 4 to 11 in the wager-I ing, while Paola was 5 to 1 and Portumna 20 to 1. Drake took the lead after three-eighths had been covered and won easily under a good ride by Beary. Stratford, a bay three-year-old, by Swyn l Ford Lesbia, which races in the colors of the Indian owner. Sahib Sangidas Josiram, rules the future book favorite for the Cambridgeshire, which will be decided October 25.
