OWASCO gradually improved his position and outtinished FAITHFUL GIRL in the final drive. FAITHFUL GIRL set a fast pace in the early running, but tired badly in the stretch. SCOTTISH CHIEF, running to his best form under skillful riding, raced under slight restraint for the first half mile, then gained steadily on the outside and, wearing AVINNECONNE down, passed her irt the final eighth. WINNECONNE saved ground on the turns and made a game rush when entering the stretch, but tired after taking the lead. LACKAAVANNA raced forwardly all the way, but tired in the final drive. LEI.01SA set a good pace while under slight lestraint in the early running and after beig headed, while entering the stretch, made a fast finish and outstayed TEMPTRESS. The hitter began slowly, hut moved up quickly in the first eighth and, saving ground when entering the stretch, finished fast and gamely. MISS BELLE also saved ground on the turns and finished with a rush. LADY ROSE ran in close pursuit of the leader in the early running and took the lead, hut swerved out in the final quarter,-losing considerable ground. DOLORES, off forwardly, set a fast pate and raced ELECTED II. into defeat in the first half mile, then drew away in the stretch and held her advantage, but was tiring at the end. LAST STRAAV was under slight restraint in the early running and moved up gamely when called on, but could not quito overhaul the winner. rOLATHIA gained steadily on the outside and made a fast finish. AVon easily; second and third driving. RIGEL followed the early leader under slight restraint until well into the stretch and, taking the lead in the final eighth, was eased up at the finish. EQUINOCTIAL set a fast early pace and responded gamely when challenged, but was unable to keep pace with the leader in the stretch. PELIOX showed a good order of speed and outtinished HUMBOLDT.
