FLOWER VALE SOLD FOR 5 Irish Cambridgeshire Winner Was Still a Maiden at Five Years Old. DUBLIN, Ireland, November 18. The Irish Cambridgeshire winner Flower Vale, by Valen3 Flowerer, a six-year-old chestnut gelding, which was bred by H S. Gray, held out so little promise as a two-year-old that after he had run without success he was sold for 5 to D. J. Power. Failing to earn a bracket in that owners colors he was passed on to another. Nor did the son of Valens score for the latter. It was not until last season, when he was a five-year-old and had become the property of D. Foley, his present owner, that he earned his first victory. A big, upstanding gelding, he required a lot of time, patience and skill before he reached the full extent of his powers. I I j ! j i
