GRANTED ILLINOIS CHARTER s Word was received from Springfield yesterday that the Hawthorne race track, incorporated, of Delaware, a foreign corporation, had been granted a charter to do business in Illinois. The capital stock of the corporation is given as 00,000. At the Illinois Jockey Club in the Garrick Theater Building, which is also the headquarters of the Hawthorne race track officials, it was learned Monday that an official meeting would be held early this week, at which time several contracts will be let for reconstruction work at the Hawthorne plant. This has been delayed, due to the absence of some of the officials from the city.
