AL PORTER raced within striking distance of the leader until after turning for home, then rustled to the front in a terrific drive and just managed to withstand the challenge of MIDIA. The latter finished fast and gamely and would have won in the next stride. CIRCULATE came from far back in the stretch. CAVK MAN ran well for a half.
