LUI-MEME set a good pace, saved ground on all the turns and held her advantage resolutely in the final drive. BOBBED HAIR ran well and finished gamely, but tired in the last fifty yards. CARRIE MOORE raced into the lead on the outside in the first eighth and drew far away after rounding the far turn, but tired and had to be ridden out to outstay VALENTINE DOR. The latter ran a good race and was wearing the winner down at the end. BLACK TOP began very slowly, but finished fast. END MAN tired in the last quarter after running a fast half. WAWONA showed great speed for a half mile and tired in the last eighth, but linished gamely. ARMEDEE ran a capital race and finished close up. JAP MUMA lan well, but tired after racing into the lead in the homestretch. MISS DIXIE tired badly after showing the most speed for three-quarters. BERRETTA quit. The latter finished fast and gamely and probably would have been the winner in another stride. MALLOWMOT tired badly in the last eighth and raced on the outside of the leaders all the way. TAMPER took the lead at once and, drawing away after rounding the first turn, set a fast pace, but tired near the end. CICERONIAN ran in closest pursuit to the last eighth before giving way. HUKN was crowded out in the first fifty yards and stumbled. BOND ran well. ROG showed speed, but quit in the stretch. Overweights Tamper, 1 pound.
