GOVERNMENT GETS FRIZZLE French Stallion Is Purchased by bythe the Remount Association Associationfrom from H K Knapp The Federal Remount Association which now has more than 300 thoroughbred stal ¬ lions distributed throughout the United States has bought from H K Knapp a steward of the Jockey Club the Frenchbred horse Frizzle and he will be moved from Kentucky to the Front Royal station in Vir ¬ ginia within the next few days daysFrizzle Frizzle was a good stake winner in France taking five important races as a threeyear old for his breeder the late II B Duryea On Mr Duryeas death a number of horses were sold by Mrs Duryea at Saratoga Mr Knapp paid 15000 for Frizzle at that sale and the horse won subsequently in his new owners colors In the stud Frizzle has sired Frigate and a number of other useful horses He is a horse of fine size and bone and is also beautifully bred His sire Biniou by Le Pom Pon a great race horse was sold for 90000 to the Russian government prior to the war His dam is the noted producer Frizette by Hamburg HamburgFrizzle Frizzle is the right sort of horse to Im ¬ prove the general purpose horse type in this country and he is a decided acquisition for the government He is worthy of the pat ¬ ronage of those breeders of blood stock de ¬ sirous of improving their female lines Mures by Frizzle are certain to be in demand as he traces to the Derby winner Shotover in the maternal line while his second dam Ondulee by St Simon is the dam of im ¬ ported Marathon
