Winn and resident manager Andrew Vtnnie were both highly elated with the results of the initial day and the splendid outlook for the success of a high -class meeting here. "I am deeply gratified and appreciative of the great interest shown in our racing." said Mr. Winn. "It is truly a great tribute to the sport when such an en- j thusiastic and large attendance braves inele-j merit weather such as prevailed today to be on hand to witness the Inauguration of the racing. We have every reason to expect that this will be the banner season In Kentucky racing history and it will be the aim of the, Kentucky Jockey Club to provide for its patrons the best there is in racing." 1
