BATSMAN raced into a long lead in the early running, but was tiring at the end and only won because best ridden in the final drive. AGA KHAN worked his way up rapidly on the outside and had his nose- in front at the sixteenth post, but his rider was of no help when it came to the finish. SUPPLIANT raced prominently and finished resolutely. WARRENTON could not keep pace with the leaders and quit in the last quarter. Won easily; second and third driving. DAMASK was saved for the first turn of the field, then gained steadily when called on and, coming fast in the last half, outjumped the others and raced into a gcod lead on the flat. DUETTISTE improved his positicn rapidly in the last turn of the field, but could not keep pace with the winner after taking the last jump on almost equal terms. MUSTY lead most of the way, but tired in the last quarter. SEA MASTER passed the tiring horses at the end. LETTE RM AN and DOUBLE TIP tired badly. COURTEOUS jumped and raced well for the first turn of the field, but was tiring when he unseated his rider at the thirteenth jump. CHARLES WELLS finished gamely on the outside. ROMPING HOME ran a fast half and tired badly. CAMOUFLAGE was always outrun. The last three at the start had no chance. Wen driving; second and third the same. TIPPITY WITCHET was outrun for the first half, but gained steadily when called on and, passed BLUFFER, but was hard-ridden to outfinish LADY MYRA. The latter set the early pace and was taken back on the baekstroteh and saved to the stretch, then came with a belated rush and finished wearing the winner down. BLUFFER ran well and finished close up. TREVELYAN could never improve his position. RED WINGFIELD raced to the leaders with a rush at the eighth-pest, then quit. MAN ran poorly. NEW HAMPSHIRE began flat-footed, but socn raced into second place and, passing BLAZES, took a clear lead, but his early strenuous racing told on him and he tired. MINT BBIAB, close up, ran a good race. MODEST finished gamely. TOLLY ANN was always far back. BLAZES set a good early pace and ran well for three-quarters.
