MATCH RACE CERTAIN In Memoriam and Zev to Meet at Louisville Next Saturday. 5,000 to Winner; ,000 to Loser Distance One Mile and a Quarter. LOTOSVTLLE, Ky., Nov. 10. A return meeting of In Memoriam. and Zev was practically clinched this afternoon, and both these sterling three-year-olds will have opportunity to again measure strides at Churchill Downs track on Saturday, November 17, the closing day of the Kentucky season, when also the valuable Kentucky Jotfkey Club Stakes, annually stamping leadership among two-year-olds on the winner, will have decision. Mr. Hildreths announced intention of willingness to send Zev here to race against In Memoriam, met with ready acceptance from owner Carl Wiedemann, the only stipulation he requested was a change in distance from a mile and an eighth to a mile and a quarter. In this Mr. Hildreth readily acquiesed by long distance this morning to Mr. Winn. -Minor details were also ironed out in jig time, Mr. Wiedemann displaying an eagerness to consummate to a successful conclusion, the meeting of the colts again. The only thing lacking to close the race is confirmation from Mr. Hildreth of his acceptance to the following telegram sent him, embodying the conditions of the race in detail: "S. C. Hildreth, Pimlico Race Track, Md. "Owner of In Memoriam has agreed to the following conditions: A private sweepstakes of 0,000 each, play or pay, the Kentucky Jockey to add 0,000 upon condition that both horses start. The winner to receive 5,000 of the stakes and added money and the second horse ,000 ; weight 126 pounds ; to be run for on November 17, 1923. One mile and one quarter. "Owner of In Memoriam reserves his right, of course, under the conditions of play or pay to declare out if track conditions, in his judgment, are unfavorable to his horse, but in so doing will forfeit his stake of 0,000, which, of course, will go to Zev if he starts." Word from Mr. Hildreth was eagerly awaited during the afternoon, but it is generally assumed that Mr. Hildreth will voice no objections to the conditions. The play or pay feature, of 0,000 should appeal to Mr. Hildreth, for in the event that the track is muddy and Mr. Wiedemann should be averse to starting his colt he will forfeit 0,000 to Zevs owner.
