TO RACE AT FAIR GROUNDS Greentree Stable Latest Applicant for Stall Room at Popular Crescent City Course. NEW ORLEANS, La., Nov. 10. That the Fair Grounds meeting is attracting attention from the best class of breeders and horsemen has already been evidenced by the number of wealthy owners who have been assigned stable room and the personnel of owners who will race this winter will be of a higher type than has ever been assembled in winter racing. The latest applicant for stall3 at the Fair Grounds is the Greentree Stable, the property of Mrs. Payne Whitney. John Dy-mond Jr., president and general manager of the Fair Grounds, yesterday received a telegram from Jack Campbell, at Laurel, asking for eighteen stalls for the Greentree Stable. The stall room at the Fair Grounds has been long exhausted, but by pushing up stables and notifying those who had reservations at Jefferson that they would be expected to shift their horses actually fit to race between the tracks in active operation, room was made for the Greentree Stable. Mrs. Whitney is a daughter of John Hay, former secretary of state in Grover Clevelands cabinet. At a meeting of the board of directors of the Business Mens Racing Association, held Tuesday night. Dr. Hamlet Moore was appointed official veterinarian for the meeting.
