FAIR GROUNDS NOTES Stake blanks for the fixtures to be decided at the Empire City track -were passed out Thursday. Nominations close on February 1. The Kirkfield Stable, trained by "Canada" Jack Adkins, moved over to the Fair Grounds during the forenoon from Jefferson Park. The attention of horsemen was called to the closing of nominations for the Rex Handicap on Saturday. The stake will be decided on January 14. Samuel Cohn and Samuel Newman, prominent business men of Cleveland, Ohio, arrived Wednesday for a short visit. Mr. Colin is the owner of the six-year-old Last One and shortly afer his arrival he arranged with T. P. Devereaux to train the horse, which had been in the care of H. G. Woods.
