GREY LAG 50TO I IN CUP English Future Books. Offer Big Price Against Rancocas Star Zev Quoted at 16 to 1. SPECIAL CABLEGRAM. LONDON, England, Jan. 10. English future books are offering 50 to 1 against Grey Lag for the 1924 Ascot Gold Cup. Zev, the other Rancocas Stable nominee for the big long-distance event, is quoted at 16 to 1, on a par with A. K. Macombers Parth and Pierre Wertheimers Epinard. Tranquil, winner of the St. Leger last fall, is at the same notch. Papyrus, which was defeated by Zev in the. International Race, is quoted at 20 to 1. Others at this notch are Macombers Rose Prince, winner of the Cesarewitch, Legality, Tsarina, Ceylonese, Saltash, Eastern Monarch, Le Capucin and Filibert de Savoie. London Cry and Twelve Pointer are quoted at 25 to 1 and Condover at 33 to 1. Daugh-ter-in-Law is in the same notch as Grey Lag, 50 to 1. Town Guard is at CG to 1, Irish Hope at 100 to 1 and Perpendicular at 1,000 to 1. Zevs short price is due to the publicity which he received in England as a result of the International Race with Papyrus. Grey Lag is practically unknown in this country and the future books are simply shooting in the dark in quoting him at 50 to 1. If any special support develops for the Rancocas crack the odds are likely to slump in quick time.
