FAIR GROUNDS NOTES B. Rosenthal has purchased half interest ; in the unnamed two-year-old filly by Theo Cock Alamandine. The stewards were flooded with scratches for the closing races. Of the fourteen listed to start, ten tried to withdraw. Ed Wilson, at one time a betting commissioner for Charles R. Ellison, is critically ill in a local hospital suffering an attack of blood poisoning. Clyde Phillips, trainer of tlie Greentree Stable, stated today that Rinkey and Dazzler will represent Mrs. Payne Whitney in the Louisiana Derby. Friends of the late Harry "Frisco" Gardner, are making up a fund for his widow. Harry Shaw has been appointed treasurer of the fund and will take subscriptions.
