BOWIE TURF NOTES Jockey D. Mergler will accompany the lot while Jockey F. Murphy will ride at Havre-de Grace as a free lance. Joseph McLennan announced that entries for Havre de Grace would be aix- pted here until ten thirty on Tuesday. D. Abies Miss Domino was declared ineligible for the second race programmed for tomorrow and was ordered scratched. F. P. Robies Due de Morny ran into the fence this morning during an exercise gallop and inflicted injuries about hs stifle. Michael Padden was an arrival from Havana and stopped off for a few U:i- racing en route to New York to await the opening at Jamaica. Trainer Fred Burlow. shipped the Lei.ja-:nin Block stable to Jamaica this niornia;- to await the opening of the metropolitan season. Jockey L. Morris was suspended for the remainder of the meeting for rough riding in the first race and his cast- referred to the, Maryland Racing Commission for further consideration. Surveyors commenced work on the roadway which will connect Bowie with the main highway loading to Baltimore tins morning. A budget of |150,000 has been set aside for the work which will be complet | next fall. The filling and work on the new mile chute which will connect with the main stretch and the top of the turn will be rushed to completion as soon as possible. Lester Dean, who officiated at the harrier throughout Ohio and Pennsylvania, was a visitor this afternoon. He arrived from New-York and left for Columbus whan he will wield the flag at that meeting, which opens n April 19. Mr. IĀ»ean. who replaced starter Milton during the lattc-rs absence at Havana, was warmly complimented upon his work, which was gilt-edged.
