LEADING AMERICAN JOCKEYS There Avas a lull in racing activities last week and but few changes wrere made in the standing of the leading jockeys of the year. E. Barnes and D. Mergler had the highest scores, each with four winners. L. McDer-mott added three to his total for the year. Ten of the thirty leaders of the year have ridden one hundred or more winners, with Ivan Parke heading the list with 202. As he will resume riding at New Orleans shortly the prospects are that he will considerably widen the gap separating him from his rivals before the end of the year rolls around. Parke also virtually tops the list from a percentage standpoint. His mark of .25 was equalled by N. Foden, but the latter has ridden in only 331 races, while Parke has had 812 mounts. Johnny Maiben, third insofar as the number of winning mounts are concerned, is another hi eh on the percentage column, with .22 to his credit.
