HORSES PURCHASED ABROAD Twenty-Five Bought By Americans at Newmarket Sales 1; Expected on Minnetonka. r j ii NEW YORK, X. Y.. Doc. 22. the time . of this message, the Minnetonka, of the Atlantic Transport line, which is bringing to this country twenty-five head of horses from England, had not docited, though the liner was expected today. The consignment of horses expected on the Minnetonka included brood mares, two-year-olds, yearlings and weanlings, which were purchased by American breeders and turfmen at the Newmarket December sales. Former Senator Johnson N. Camden of Versailles, Ky., was the most liberal pur- , chaser abroad, and has added seven brood mares to his farm, and one weanling. The brood mares represent choice English blood lines and have been pronounced magnificent specimens by those that inspected them prior , to their shipment to this country. The consignment will be shipped to Kentucky as quickly as possible after unloading. . Walter .7. Salmon is represented in the consignment by four, which were acquired at private purchase. Seven head have been consigned to Scott Harlan, while Marshall Field III., J. E. "Wide-ner, L. Coombs, George Wingfield of Reno, New, and F. R. Bradley are represented by purchases. Volta, a brown horse twelve years old, is the stallion purchased by G. Wingfield, and will stand at the head of his Nevada Stock Farm at Reno, Nevada. The hors?s will not be unloaded until Tuesday morning, when they will be inspected by Dr. R. W. McCully. Arrangements have been completed for the shipment of the stock to their respective destinations. Following is a summary of the shipment : For J. N.
