MARSHALL CASSIDYS NEW STARTING DEVICE :::;::;::::::::::::::: - - x y - The gate and trucks on which it is mounted in position. The starters platform is mounted on the outside truck. Starter controls the speed, stopping and starting of trucks, chauffeurs only -guiding them. Gate itself is same as gates now in use. Outside truck may be speeded up rounding turns. Horses line up just after post parade and walk behind the webbing to the starting point and are started without pausing for a standing break. Starter uses his own judgment as-to how close to actual starting point horses shall be started, but within forty to twenty-five feet of the post.
